Department of Psychology

Introduced the undergraduate B.Sc Psychology degree in the academic year of June, 2013. Offered as an ancillary subject until now, the decision was validated by the overwhelming response from students. The mission of the Department of Psychology, Priyadarshini Arts & Science, is to "maximize individual potential by equipping every student with the knowledge of Psychology thereby bringing about holistic growth of self and transforming them into ambassadors for social intervention". To this end, the Department offers an interesting bandwidth of courses as students work through the 3 year undergraduate degree. Hence, in addition to strong basic foundation courses. Going beyond academics, the Department plans to invite scholars, researchers and clinical practitioners to lecture and share their expertise with students. This move ties in with the Vision of the Department, which is, "to create an inclusive, integrated and healthy community that facilitates in building an empathetic, humane and empowered society." The Department faculty work to stay abreast of emerging trends and academic research in the subject. Given this, the course will evolve to include new academic material and practices that emerge globally. .
